The War Memorial was originally located at a chapel in the centre of Alpraham Village. When the chapel was demolished, the memorial was resited at the Alpraham and Calveley Reading Room for many years.
Following the closure and demolition of the Reading Room in 2018, the stone was stored for safe keeping at St Jude’s Church in Tilstone Fearnall.
In 2024, when the new village hall was opened, the stone was retrieved from St Jude’s (thank you St Jude’s) and sent to a local stone mason. It was renovated and a plinth created. On 25th October 2024 the War Memorial was installed in it’s new permanent home. It is now on the south side of the new village hall and can be visited by the public at any time.

In addition, an indoor version has been created. This version also features detailed information about the names on the stone.

The indoor memorial is in the lobby and can be viewed any time the hall is open.
